If you follow Hope In A Blog, you’d be no stranger to this brand : Chosungah Raw which is first skincare brand from makeup artist, Cho Seong Ah, which is also the director of the Korean Make Up Forever Academy. She also has a make-up brand called the Chosungah Luna which has been around for a much longer time than the Chosungah Raw.
The Chosungah Raw has achieved huge success since it’s release due to it’s interesting ‘black energy’ which uses the 4 black complex ( black currant, black pansy, black tea, black pearl ), as well as 23 other ‘ natural black ingredients like sesame, black beans etc and 20 other types of natural moisturizing ingredients. It is free from artificial colouring, parabens, benzophenone, and mineral oil. It also uses the Water Block System which uses coral water that deeply moisturizes the skin while locking moisture.
The entire line has been expanded many times, and the infamous end cream has since then been upgraded twice. The Chosungah Raw Dayshu Real Skin Fixer is the updated version of the Chosungah Raw End Cream. Both of them are however, rather different on it’s own.
Like i mentioned above, the Dayshu is an upgraded version of the End Cream. However, it doesn’t seem that day in terms of packaging. It’s definitely a downgrade. The 1st packaging of the Chosungah Raw line is so beautiful and refine. It is luxurious and just beautiful as a ‘decoration’ to your make-up table.
Don’t get me wrong : the Dayshu isn’t ugly. It’s just not as luxurious looking as its older sister. Even the spoon that comes with it looks like an ice cream stick. But the Dayshu is beautiful none the less, and i like the light pink words on top of the cover ( though i don’t know what it reads ).
They both contains protective lids. The production date is printed on the base of the jars.
Texture & Shade
Texture wise , both are very different. The End Cream is much more paste-y and concentrated unlike the Dayshu. Don’t be fooled by it’s thick pastey texture – once rubbed, it spreads easily on the skin. However, to make sure that it doesn’t look too pearly on your skin, be sure to spread it evenly and carefully on your face. Work under natural light or white light, as you can’t see this properly under yellow light.
The Dayshu Cream has an ace texture. It’s really soft, moist and spreads super easily like milk on the skin. I think in terms of texture, this is definitely an upgrade. Again, not that the texture of the End Cream is bad – but here – it is even spreadable and better!
Both of them give you a dewy pearly glow like that of a celebrity. That is also why this cream is called the ‘Paparazzi Cream’. It actually looks natural on the skin, but please be sure to spread it evenly and rub it in properly into your skin. Be careful to blend it properly on areas such as the nose, the lip area. The Dayshu is less obvious due to its light moist texture, and the End Cream has a more concentrated effect.
Both creams can also be used together with your BB Creams so that it gives your BB Cream that dewy glow. Here are a few photos :
- With the End Cream
As you can see, the End Cream gives the BB Cream a little bit of a pinkish pearly glow to it. It looks rather heavy but that is because i used it only on 1/4 of my hands when that amount can be used to cover about 1/4 of your face.
- With Dayshu Cream
The new formula contains much more oil content than the previous version. The older version actually showed little oil content during the oil test while the Dayshu cream had quite a lot of oil content. The older version has that paste texture, therefore maybe it has harder to test its oil content as it hardens up during the test.
These creams definitely do not have oil control, nor were they meant to be. The Dayshu cream is actually very moist and hydrating, while the End Cream is more suitable for those with oily skin, as it has a drier, matte texture
Don’t have the list.. it’s all in Korean!
I understand why this cream is such a super hit in Korea. Now, even Hong Kong carries this line ( sold at Harvey Nich ). It really brightens up your skin tone, gives it a nice natural celebrity glow while keeping your skin moist and smooth. In Korea, it is advertised as a whitening cream + moisturizing cream + anti wrinkle cream + BB Cream and it lives up to all of that claims. It doesn’t provide any coverage like BB Creams, but it helps brighten up the skin tone like a BB Cream does and camouflages your imperfections with the reflection of light. Place some under your dark circles, and the optics makes it look less obvious too!
It is also multi-functional. You can use it as your make up base, as your sun screen ( SPF 25 PA++ ), or even together with your BB Creams. Chosungah Raw also has a BB Base ( look at our article : here ) in which you mix it with the Dayshu in a 1:3 ratio to give you a more BB-like colour. But you can use it with your usual BB Creams. However, get this cream only if you are comfortable with that ‘celebrity glow’. Not everyone likes that pearly radiant glow, especially those with oily skin. For an even blended and even coverage of the Dayshu, use a brush to apply it to your skin. If you want it to be less glowy, apply some loose powder after the Dayshu, or use the Dayshu first and apply the BB Cream later.
My friends became obsessed with the cream after having tried it, they all ordered a set on Gmarket here. It’s a pretty good deal as you get a whole loads of samples + full size items. It’s a limited edition set too! Pictures of the set will come soon in the next Gmarket haul! This cream is also endorsed by Kang Sora, a Korean actress or rather known as Super Junior’s virtual wife, Kang Sora. This is how your skin looks after using the Dayshu ( Kang Sora below ) :
