The ElishaCoy has a much elegant packaging compared to the Mizon one. But no complains on the Mizon one as well. ElishaCoy Cream comes in 50ml while the Mizon one comes in 75ml, therefore there is an obvious size difference between the two. Both of them uses glass jars therefore the Mizon one is rather heavy. The both also have lids once you unscrew the jar.

As you can see from the photos above, The Elisha Coy Cream has a fluffy cream like texture which spreads very easily and absorbs very easily to give you a nice smooth texture. It feels very fluid, watery and moist.

The Mizon Cream has a sticky-gel like texture, it really feels like real snail mucin. It’s sticky and gel like – totally different from the ElishaCoy cream. It does however feels watery and moist on the skin but it is a little stickier than the ElishaCoy Cream and absorbs slower. When you spread it on your skin, it gives an initial white cast – just like the Elicina snail cream but sinks in after you rub it properly on your skin. It also gives a matte finish on your skin. The Mizon Snail Cream also has this ‘cooling’ feeling, i can’t figure out if it’s cooling or burning- lol and it doesn’t turn my skin red after that, although it feels like alcohol on a sensitive skin.

There is only one photo, but basically it was the same even after 24 hours, with the exception of the ElishaCoy being a little bit more oilier than the Mizon ( M ) but it really insignificant to take into account. On your skin, the EC does really feel a little oilier and emollient than the Mizon, and the Mizon gives a smooth matte finish.

 

But with the machine test, both had Level 5 in oil content ( no idea why ), but the Mizon faired better in both Texture and Hydration level.

Both ingredient lists are not very clean compared to the Snail Creams of other brands. Elisha Coy contains 91% snail mucin while Mizon contains 92%. Both contains Polyisobutene which is another name for Liquid Paraffin = Mineral Oil and is pretty high up the list in the ElishaCoy list. Dimethicone is also high up the ElishaCoy list which explains the non-sticky and smooth texture of the cream. Phenoxyethanol which has it’s fair share of controversies is also up the list in ElishaCoy. However, ElishaCoy’s snail cream is paraben-free while the Mizon one contains a few parabens.

 

 

ElishaCoy’s list seems to also richer in extracts starting from the 2nd line up till the last line. You’ll see a mix of chinese medicine herbs together with flower and vegetable extracts. It also contains a few peptides and adenosine which are known for their effectiveness in combating wrinkles.

 

 

Conclusion : Both have pros and cons however i do favour the ElishaCoy list over the Mizon list.

I’ve been using both snail creams for about 3 weeks continuously each together with the Benton Snail Bee Venom Essence. I found both not hydrating enough for the winter period, but if you’re staying in a tropical country, they would probably be enough. Mizon Snail Cream will be more suitable for those with oily combination as it gives a matte finish, and ElishaCoy Snail Cream would be more ideal for day use as it gives that smooth moist and more comfortable especially if you are going to use make-up later on. With that said, the Mizon Cream isn’t that sticky. It takes a much longer time to absorb and you’d have to spend at least 5 minutes more to get rid of the white cast and for it to absorb fully into your skin and for the stickiness to go away. The ElishaCoy Snail Cream spreads effortlessly without any trouble. It’s light in texture and feels between a lotion emulsion cream texture which is a huge plus!

 

 

As for effectiveness – snail creams are generally known for its regeneration properties and calming properties. They are very effective in calming the skin especially when you have acne, etc and can be used on sensitive skin without any problems. Both are good creams and help in this aspect. You definitely need a significant amount of cream each time. BE GENEROUS. That is also one of the reasons why Snail Creams come in pots of 75ml or 100ml because it will be more effective when you use a significant amount each time. I am never stingy when it comes to snail creams. I dig up a huge amount and slab it to my skin each time! After using both, I did like both very much, but the ElishaCoy gave me much smoother skin after a period of time! Mizon did seem a little more effective on my pimples.

 

Another important difference is that Mizon seemed to be quite heavy in alcohol content as it had that burning/cooling sensation on application. No trouble with the ElishaCoy Cream. 

 

 

All Snail Creams are rather good – and there are so many snail creams in the market right now. Therefore my advice is for you to look at their ingredient lists properly before purchasing them! Although both are above average creams, if I were to repurchase one, it would be the ElishaCoy Snail Cream due to the reasons explained above even though it is priced more expensive.

I’ve been using this for lately, and i’ve been surprised at how fast my acne cures when applying snail cream. Here’s my Hope In A Blog tip to achieve flawless cream with snail cream. I’ve been using this routine and it was worked wonders! Before sleeping, apply a toner ( snail based or EGF based toner ), then apply the Benton Snail Bee Venom Essence ( 2 pumps ). Finish off with a CHERRY SIZED ( not pea size, not grape size, but CHERRY size ) of the ElishaCoy or Mizon snail cream. Do NOT use this method with the TonyMoly Snail Creams ( or those which are cream based as it will be too rich for the skin ). When i said cherry sized – i mean triple the amount of what you usually use. Go to sleep… wake up, then look in the mirror!
