What is Beauty

What is Beauty
In philosophical dictionaries, beauty is defined as a universal component of culture, in which the ratio of the subject of perception to perfection perceived by the senses is fixed.

There are many other definitions. For example, "Beauty is that which will save the world" (Dostoevsky) or "Beauty is the perfect objectification of the will at the highest stage of its cognition" (Schopenhauer). But, in fact, these words do not address the component of the human essence that unmistakably, but subjectively, distinguishes between the beautiful and the ugly.

It is here that the main difficulty arises. Beauty is a property of the perception of the world, and often the types of perception are absolutely not the same. In other words, what is the ideal for one, the other may seem ugly: both the verge of perfection and the music of the spheres by different people are perceived in different ways. There is no such standard, one for all times and peoples. But the feeling, or rather, the feeling of beauty, is inherent in all who visited this world. How, at least a little closer to understand this phenomenon?

Thus, a person operates with the notion of beauty at the everyday level: "the beauty of a flowering tree," "beauty of a woman или мужчины», «красота пейзажа за окном». Но это не внешние признаки и детали, а только их восприятие. Иными словами, опять же, особенность субъекта воспринимать мир так, что некоторые детали сразу же привлекают к себе внимание и признаются красивыми или безобразными.

However, the beauty of a musical work or a poetic text, the beauty of the speaker's syllable, can also be understood in exactly the same way. But it is unlikely that a person will be able to give a clear answer to the question, by what objective principles he was guided, separating the object, action or image from the other phenomena of the world and making it more meaningful. That is why, even among specialists, disputes about the real fullness of aesthetic terms do not abate for centuries.

Where and in what exactly is its beauty?

Perfection, absolute harmony, impeccability – all these are only dry definitions, despite the multiple attempts to consolidate them in the reference books on aesthetics and philosophical dictionaries. No wonder the great artists of the Renaissance, whose work was imbued with the ideas of striving for harmony, refused to continue work on the canvases and frescos, if they understood that the achievement and comprehension of the ideal at this stage is impossible.
