Prohibited ingredients for home masks
Many girls are fond of cooking home masks to maintain beauty, health and a beautiful appearance of their skin, because the masks often include useful, and most importantly, natural products and ingredients. But it is worthwhile to know and remember – not all products can be used as ingredients for a mask.

Top unsuitable ingredients for masks:

1.) Baking soda

In many articles and video-blogs you can hear and read about the miraculous effect of soda, about its magic power of cleaning the skin. But do not be avid on tempting promises, because soda is an alkali. Upon contact with the skin, it contributes to the destruction of the protective layer of the skin, thereby exposing it to microbes and bacteria. Soda also dehydrates the skin, which in the future can lead to irritation or allergic reactions.

2.) Lemon

Do not use concentrated lemon juice, because it is the purest acid that adversely affects the skin condition, overdoes it and can cause hyperpigmentation.

3.) Toothpaste

Many have heard that if you apply a little toothpaste on the affected and irritated area, then it will remove redness and dry the damaged area. But do not forget that toothpaste can destroy the lipid barrier both at the site of application and in the immediate areas, and some types of pastes can cause irreparable harm to the skin in the form of burns. Therefore, it is more rational to replace the toothpaste with tea tree oil to dry the irritated skin.

4.) Petroleum jelly

It can be used once a year, but it is better not to apply to the skin at all. It accumulates under the skin and in the future can cause increased secretion of the sebaceous glands.

5.) Hydrogen Peroxide

Peroxide is indispensable in the case of treatment of wounds and abrasions, as it kills germs and cleans the wound. But in no case do not use it as an element in the mask, because peroxide contributes to oxidative stress – which is fraught with rapid aging of the skin.

6.) Sugar

Sugar is ideal for preparing a body scrub, but do not use it as an ingredient for a facial mask, it's better to stop looking at the powdered sugar.

7.) Alcohol

Undoubtedly, it kills and destroys the protective barrier of the skin, and also promotes the dissolution of skin cells. This negatively affects the process of regeneration and exfoliation, which leads to clogging of the pores, abundant fat release and the appearance of comedones.

To maintain the health and beauty of your skin, it is important to remember all these forbidden ingredients and in no case experiment on your health.
