Mascara is the key factor for both everyday and evening make-up. With its help, you can lengthen the eyelashes, give them the right bend, volume and expressiveness. Most women admit that they are uncomfortable with unglazed eyes and consider their makeup unfinished.

But behind the creation of this beauty is a list of not the most healthful ingredients: industrial mascara of some manufacturers can contain formaldehyde, mercury, aluminum, triethanolamine, parabens, synthetic pigments that cause an allergic reaction.

Cosmetics made by their own hands, has a high level of safety, good decorative qualities and provides gentle care for eyelashes, thanks to the use of natural components.

Preparation of liquid mascara for eyelashes

In order to make the liquid mascara habitual for us, first of all it is necessary to take care of a suitable capacity for the finished product. It is best to use a container with a brush from the used carcass. The container removes the stopper, designed to protect the brush from the ingress of excess carcass and soak it in hot water.

After the dried mascara is softened, the container and brush are thoroughly washed and well dried. If necessary, it can be disinfected with an alcohol solution.

Making mascara begins with the preparation of the base: 2 tsp. coconut oil, 3,5 tsp. pharmacy gel of aloe and 0,5 tsp. beeswax is placed in a small container and heated in a water bath or very low heat with continuous stirring.

2 activated carbon tablets are thoroughly ground until a uniform powder is obtained. If you want to make mascara brown, then activated carbon is replaced with cocoa powder.

The pigment from the activated carbon is added to the slightly cooled base mixture, mixed well and the finished product is poured into the container. For convenience, you can use a plastic bag, pour the mixture into one of its corners and make a small hole in it.

If eyelashes are prone to loss, then to improve the caring properties in the finished mixture can add 1-2 drops of pharmacy vitamin E on an oil base.

Preparation of a solid carcass

Those women who prefer a retro option, reminiscent of the popular in Soviet times mascara "Leningrad", should replace the gel from aloe with the juice of this plant or ordinary water.

Dry mascara is made from the same ingredients as the liquid, but with the addition of half a teaspoon of cornstarch, the same amount of water (or aloe juice) and castor oil. Castor oil can be replaced with jojoba oil.

The basis of wax, oils, starch and water is heated in a water bath, add a black or brown pigment and immediately, without waiting for cooling, pour the mixture into a flat container – for example, in a jar from under the shadows.

It is important to remember that the mixture quickly freezes, so after mixing the base and the pigment, as soon as possible, place mascara in a pre-prepared container, lightly compact it and then leave it to dry.
