Shugaring is a method of removing unwanted hair on the body with the help of sugar mass, reminiscent of the consistency of caramel. Sugar depilation is done in salons, but the procedure is so simple that it can be repeated on your own at home.
You will need
- – 1 glass of sugar;
- – 2 spoons of water;
- – 2 spoons of lemon juice;
- – antiseptic;
- – talc or baby powder.
The key to the success of sugar epilation is the correct paste. Too liquid consistency will not allow the hairs to adhere well to the sugar mass, so it will not be possible to achieve a perfectly smooth skin. Too thick paste will be difficult to apply to the skin – it will not stick and it will be almost impossible to distribute it even on a small area from which you need to remove hair.
The first time you can make a small amount of pasta for shugaring. To do this, you will need an 1 glass of sugar, 2 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Sugar should be poured into a saucepan with a thick bottom, add water and lemon juice, mix and leave on a very small fire under the lid for 10 minutes. After that, the sugar mass should be cooked for another 10 minutes, stirring constantly. The ready-made mixture for shugaring should be completely cooled, it will take several hours. It is best to pour it into a plastic container, and immediately pour hot water into the pan, otherwise the frozen sugar will be very difficult to wash.
Before the beginning of sugar depilation you need to prepare the skin. The areas from which the hair will be removed should be wiped with a damp towel, then treated with an antiseptic so that there are no further inflammations. When the skin dries, talc is applied on it, which will ensure good adhesion of hair and paste. All the movements need to be done against the growth of the hair, in order to raise them.
Next, you need to take in the hand part of the cooled caramel and form from it a ball the size of a large walnut. Sugar paste pressed against the skin and stretched against the growth of hair. It should be torn off strictly by the growth of the hair – this is distinguished by shugaring from wax-like depilation. Shugaring does not require the use of strips for depilation, all actions are performed only by hands. Strips can be needed only if small pieces of caramel remain on the skin, which are easiest to remove by pressing the strips to them and cutting them off sharply.
When all unwanted hair is removed, the skin needs to be treated once again with an antiseptic. During 12 hours after depilation, you can not visit the sauna, bath or solarium, you should refrain from physical exercises that provoke perspiration. To the process of hair regrowth, they do not grow into the skin, it is recommended to periodically cleanse the skin with a scrub or a stiff washcloth. Surpluses of sugar paste can be stored in a vacuum container to use them during the following procedure.
