L’oreal pushes out new BB Cream in Asia with SPF50+

L’oreal has released another BB Cream in Asia called the L’Oreal UV Perfect BB Max. Unfortunately for us here in Europe, L’Oreal has released some really shitty underperforming BB Creams such as the L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream or the slightly better L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream. Don’t even get me started on how these BB Creams are less than SPF 20…..

Anyway, luckily for those of you in Asia, L’Oreal will be releasing another new BB Cream called the L’Oreal UV Perfect BB Max SPF50+ / PA+++ which promises long lasting UV protection and hydration of 12 hours! Like how L’oreal’s other brands such as Lancome and the Helena Rubinstein which uses the Mexoryl SX/XL sun filter ( but charging us at a ridiculous price! ) you can finally purchase a Mexoryl SX/XL based BB Cream at a more affordable price compared to the Lancome / Helena Rubinstein BB Cream.

The BB Cream contains :

  • Anti-pollution active ingredient: enriched in Detoxyl to inhibit pollutants fixation on the skin.
  • Anti-free radical barrier: with Anti-Oxydant Complex and Activa-Cell, to shield cells’ DNA, elastic and collagen fibers against free radicals.
  • Colour Equalizer Technology, an innovative pigments complex that desaturates skin discolorations – yellowish, brown and reddish. The formula instantly covers and corrects skin imperfections and brightens skin complexion. Skin looks even and brightened.
  • An ultra-fine texture fusing magically with your skin in ideal harmony with your own skin complexion. It diffuses freshness and lightness for an optimal comfort sensation. Matte finish, so imperceptible.

The BB Cream also follows the old Korean trend in marketing their BB Creams : 10-in-1. ( whitening, bla bla bla bla, )

For those of you that don’t like BB Creams ? They also come in two other versions which are not tinted : L’oreal UV PERFECT 12H Longlasting UV Protector SPF50 UVB/UVB PA+++ EVEN COMPLEXION ( Yellow based cream which doubles as a skin tone correction makeup base ) and the L’Oreal UV PERFECT 12H Longlasting UV Protector SPF50 UVB/UVB PA+++ Transparent skin ( typical white based cream sunscreen ).

I have a feeling that this is similar to the Lancome BB Cream since the emphasize is on how ‘light’ the BB Cream which is exactly the selling point of the Lancome BB Cream which is marketed as the lightest BB Cream in the world ( as light as a feather ).Thank god that it doesn’t have the  really greyish shade that the Lancome and Helena Rubinstein BB Cream has! ( even though Lancome upgraded their BB Creams this year and introduced a warm shade for those who were not a fan of the greyish based shade ).  All the better – you don’t have to fork out 2-3 times the money for a same product ! The BB Cream will be priced at around 10 euros which is 6 times less expensive than the Lancome or Helena BB Cream! The BB Cream will be manufactured in Indonesia and not in Paris this time, so i guess that is why the retail price is lower.

Check out the BB Cream in action on this famous taiwanese beauty TV program. They tested the BB Cream on a UV Radiated machine to prove it’s 12-hour UV protection properties.

  1. I’m glad to read this post! I am just starting to read about BB creams (late i know :p) and was having a hard time figuring out what to look for and which brands offered the most bang for the buck. I’m going to Tokyo in a week so this will definitely be on the shopping list!
