    Snail FTW!

Which cream do you think is the best?? They all seem to be good!

    • Hope In A Blog

haha yeah! i think the battle is probably against elisha coy, it’s skin, baviphat and tony moly !

  • Emily

    Hey Hope,

Enjoy reading your blog alot! Thanks for sharing all these updates with us.

Quick question… does higher concentration in the cream meant to be better for the skin? I’m using It’s Skin Prestige line right now. However, it only has 21% as compared with some that have 90%.

Also, is Baviphat a reliable “skincare” brand? The price seem to be much resonable with 90% of concentraion.

    Thanks! ^^

    • Hope In A Blog

i think kev mentioned this too – all of them have at least 70% which is really high already so i don’t think there will be much difference!

It’s Skin only has 21% but i think it does make up for it with its other ingredients such as EGF, mushroom extracts etc – but i don’t see the justification of the really high price compared to the others, other than the gorrrgeous packaging!

  • Maria

So Elisha Coy snail skin and masks have made it to hong kong. The other day they sold them at one posh supermarket. I snatched two last creams (too tempted after reading your
Blog) and the masks were sold out. It’s such a
Hype. Soon they will be available at sasa so I guess they will be sold on their site too. I tried it last night. It’s very watery. I decided not to put anything on top to see the results. It made my skin dry in the morning.
    No direct results as such.
So will keep you updated if I see amazing results. I am off to japan to continue my crazy cosmetics shopping. Bises et a hopeinablog

    • Hope In A Blog

they released a serum too recently! i think the baviphat one sounds better. it’s funny how the it’s skin snail cream is the least concentrated but is the best selling one! pays to have gorgeous boys to do ads for you i guess! haha

  • ReY

thankkkk god I read this post very carefully b4 I decided to jump on the snail wagon haha
I was about to order It’s Skin (kinda hv a thing toward the most raved things), but then I read ur post n see that Shea Butter is one of the top list ingredients! gosh n I’m totally allergic to it! found this out when started using L’occitane products n every one of their body lotion/cream makes me itched like crazy! >.<
so now I'm lemming towards Tony Moly, mostly bcoz they hv an extra eye cream on the box :P hv u tried this? is it any good? better that or baviphat?

    • Hope In A Blog

that is why we changed our new catchphrase to ‘with knowledge, comes beauty’! the blog was made to provide readers with knowledge, reviews, reader’s comments so that consumers can judge before they purchase something to have better skin!
Tony Moly’s snail cream is veryyyyy moisturizing and can lean towards being a little greasy, so unless you have dry skin, i would pick something else. Baviphat one sounds good, and the only one together with Its Skin that also incorporates EGF in their formula! Of course there are other premium snail brands that incorporate EGF with Snails – but they are over 140,000 wons!

  • ReY

Yeah ur rite! The rite knowledge will maximize our beauty hehe
well my skin is actually pretty oily but veryyy dehydrated. Maybe I’ll look out for samples first then. Does baviphat alcohol free? N what are those two syringe look-a-like in the box for?
N btw do u hv any recommendation for a good pore reducing product? These large holes r killing me >_<
thx a lot for replying n I really enjoy reading ur blog ^^

    • Hope In A Blog

hmm seems like the baviphat doesn’t have alcohol !

the two syringe are the ampoules/fillers ! like you put them on your wrinkles etc to plump your skin up!

  • beauty tips for dry itchy skin

Great article you’ve got there! Kudos for you for postingthis sort of good data. Will certainly be spine for more!

  • oatkrunch

I plan to try out etude house’s snail cream next week as that’s the only brand of snail cream that i can get in my country at this moment. oh yeah! i heard the face shop has the snail line too. we have the face shop, baviphat and nature republic here but they don’t have snail range. so, only etude house. i wonder is it for all skin type?

    • admin

yes snail creams are suitable for all skin types. Tony Moly has a snail line too and they just launched recently in Malaysia , Johor. Dont know if KL has! But i think Sephora KL has Baviphat? Baviphat also has a snail line

      • oatkrunch

ehh really? i just went o Sephora KLCC the other day and looked around Baviphat and no, I don’t see any snail line though. And nope. Tony Moly is not in KL yet.. I mean not that I have heard of or seen. hehe!

        • admin

ahh means that Sephora didn’t bring the Baviphat snail line in !

          • oatkrunch

yup! since baviphat is still new in Malaysia, there are many more other ranges that they haven’t bring in yet. same goes to the face shop and nature republic. they don’t have snail range yet and when I asked them, they have no clue of it at all. so, the best bet for me now is etude darling snail cream. haha!

          • admin

or you can easily buy it off gmarket! haha

  • zamachi76

I tried to buy the Baviphat Miracle Cure line from G-market, but unable to proceed due to error in the payment. I tried using visa/mastercard and even paypal, but still failed. Any solution that you can recommend? :(

    • admin

yes, use paypal !! Gmarket doesnt accept 3D Secure encrypted cards, that is why it fails!

  • zamachi76

I tried using paypal, but still failed. :(

    • admin

it’s weird… what does it say?

    • revolemina

zamachi: you must use Internet Explorer AND turn off your pop-up blocker. Lotus Palace has mentioned a couple of times on her blog that Gmarket will not work properly if Internet Explorer is not used. I had the same problem in the past because I used Safari (even with the pop-up blocker turned off)

      • admin

yeah, but credit card never works for me! it fails all the time!

  • Shelly

I don’t know Korean well but I was wondering… do any of these cremes have especially good reviews for lightening acne scars. That’s what I want from the snail creme and I’ve seen them advertised to do this, but has anyone who used any of these products had any good results? Thanks!

    • admin

apparently the tony moly snail ampoules are made for this! its a 1-2 month treatment program!

  • free ipad 2

Great review! This is truly the type of post that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this blog post higher!

  • Kev Jang

VoV also has a snail cream retailing around 30,000 won or so, called the Es: pair Snail Healing Cream. I got it off a store recently, under new stock.

    • admin

yeap! i wrote about it in another article long time back! have not tried it though

  • Kev Jang

The texture is richer, like a real souffle butter compared to The Face Shop’s which is somewhat more syrupy. I like the smell though, and it has both shea and cocoa butter as emollients in it. 71% of the cream is snail secretion filtrate, so for the price, it is pretty good. (I got it at 39 SGD, off a small store and it was freshly made in April this year.)
It’s also because I don’t have acne-prone skin for the most part, that I like such creams with buttery textures, and can use it even in humid climates.

    • admin

im having a hard time finishing tony moly’s snail cream because it’s just tooo rich !

  • Kev Jang

Yes, snail creams tend to be made for drier skins. I seem to get away with using creams which are buttery or creamy, provided that they do not sit in on the face, unlike some of my other friends who feel that creams cause them to breakout. Having lived in drier climates for years–Canada for one–also means that you finish creams faster. The subzero temperatures just leech moisture out of the skin, and some oil-based moisturizers are not even enough. It is not for nothing that they came up with their own pharmaceutical version of a Urea cream in Canada for Canadian sale and use only.

    • admin

i guess that is one of the reasons why the it’s skin snail cream is so popular because it actually has a nice light fluffy texture. the elishacoy one is also light in texture!

      • Kev Jang

I guess I do not like light, fluffy creams as much for my own skin type. The Whoo Qi and Jin cream sample which I got last time was one of the best creams I ever used, and so was Hannule Chae Eum cream, and the Go Gyeol Jinaek cream. The skin absorbs them very well, but they do not just feel like mere water on water on the skin, which gets vaporized in airconditioning or any drier air.

  • Kev Jang

Has anyone tried the Nature Republic Snail Cream before?

  • oatkrunch

I saw It’s skin the other day and they said their snail line is the hottest seller. I saw their Creme Prestige d’Escargot and it’s priced at RM200++ this is insane! Looking at the concentration has only 21%. anyhow, i plan to try on their snail sleeping pack instead. hehe!

    • admin

ah, It’s Skin is available in Malaysia already? Yeah the concentration is only 21%, but they have EGF and lots of other goodies in their formulation!

  • oatkrunch

But still a whooping RM200++ is crazy for such brand. Yeah! the first and only shop for now.

    • admin

where’s the shop located? Yeah, 200+ is a little crazy because the price difference btwn this and their other items are huge. there are also two other items from It’s Skin around the same price range – the Prestige series.

  • Matilda

Thank you so much for this it is really helpful! I’m really confused as to which one to buy. Which do you think is better the Elishacoy or the It’s skin? I’m leaning towards the Elishacoy because it has a higher concentrate but I keep hearing great things about the It’s skin… I’m stuck!

    • hopeinablog

Hi Matilda… it depends on your skin type. Do you have oily or dry skin?

      • Matilda

I have difficulty pinpointing my skin type, I’d say it is combination but it can be very dehydrated and I’m highly acne prone. I’m using La Mer moisturizing cream at the moment, but I want to try a snail cream for the regenerative properties because I have a lot of red acne marks and scaring. Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

        • hopeinablog

snail creams are divided into two categories. first you have the light textured or gel textured creams such as its skin, elishacoy, etc. and then u have those which are cream y balmy based such as the tony moly and the secret key prestige.

so it really depends on what type of textures you like on your cream

          • Matilda

I’d like to try one of the lighter, gel textured creams to use in a morning and then use the La Mer at night. I just can’t decide between Elishacoy and It’s Skin, it’s so difficult to choose.

          • hopeinablog

Since It’s Skin is on sale now, i would suggest for you to try it ! It’s Skin has EGF in it which helps in skin regeneration. ElishaCoy’s snail cream does not contain that.

          • Matilda

I’m not sure the sale will apply to me as I’m in the UK, I’ll have to purchase it online, do you know where I can buy it?

          • hopeinablog

if you want to purchase a few stuff, you can consider Gmarket. The sale applies if you purchase it on Gmarket. But if you want to purchase just ONE cream, then better off getting it off ebay. But because It’s Skin is on sale now , might be worth checking out their Gmarket shop and maybe purchase a few stuff like their Syn-ake cream, or their famous macarons lip balms!

            here is the link :

          • Matilda

Thank you for you help :-) , I was going to order the It’s skin but I missed the sale so I’ve decided to buy the Elishacoy but for some reason I’m unable to complete the order, every time I checkout I get
‘[주문접수시 문제가 발생하여] Your order being cancelled.
            • 주문 접수중에 문제가 발생하여 결제가 이루어지지 않았습니다. 확인후 다시 주문해 주시기 바랍니다.
            ( Error Code : -709 )’
I’ve tried paying with paypal express and card and I still get the same message. I’ve emailed the customer service but they haven’t been any help. Do you know why I’m getting the error? Thank you again!

          • hopeinablog

have u checked if the discount coupon u used is correct? did u use the shopping rewards thingy without having any balance left? those might be the problem

          • Matilda

I didn’t use a discount coupon or shopping rewards. I have no clue what the problem is. :-(

          • hopeinablog

use the live chat on the help page, and tell them the error code and ask them what the prob is

  • Alias

Have you pick out your most favorite snail cream yet?

    • hopeinablog

      currently it’s still the it’s skin :)

  • Matilda

I thought I reply at the top as it was getting quite squished bellow.
The customer service (email and live chat) don’t know what’s wrong, I just keep being told to wait and they will get back to me :-(
I’ve tried removing the items in my cart and then re adding them, I’ve tried to pay with paypal express and credit card and both have failed many times. I’ve also tried creating a new account and have tried with 4 different computers and different internet browsers and nothing has worked. I’ve also tried buying from a different seller and every time I am unable to complete my order. I don’t know what else to try :-( Have you ever encountered a problem like this?

    • hopeinablog

yes- only to find out there was something wrong with my coupons and shopping reward balance! haha just be patient, it will be worth the wait :)

  • Liaali78

hello i am acne prone and i want to use a snail cream, like it’s a skin prestige cream or some other one which one would you suggest for my skin type which is extremely acne prone sensitive? and where can i buy them in the us?

    • hopeinablog

yes i would recommend it’s skin escargot line ! snail creams are suitable for those with sensitive skin. i would also recommend that you try the it’s skin prestige ampoule together with the cream too

Hey, awesome compilation. Just wondering which one you would recommend for dry sensitive skin. Recently, been going through a phase where my skin is really dry, refuses to retain moisture, with some redness. Nothing seems to work. Gonna be heading to Seoul end of the month to pick up some skincare. Thanks a bunch!

    • hopeinablog

Hi, i would actually recommend oriental skincare since you are heading to Seoul like Hannule or Whoo, or if budget isn’t a problem : Whoo , Sulwhasoo, Allvit, Donginbi. Or even the excellent Waterfull line from Sum37.

But if Snail cream is a must – get those which are balmier and richer like the TonyMoly or Secret Key Prestige Snail Cream + Ampoule.

  • sgboyrants

this is a really awesome compilation!

    • hopeinablog

      thanks! :)

  • yes

great compilation! just some input/info for you all.. been trying secret key snail cream (not the gel type, i realize the gel type made me break out with pimples but not the cream type) and its been really good! really makes my blemishes and scars from ex-pimples disappear.. surprised to find out that it is the cheapest, can’t imagine how the expensive ones must be, they must be really really good then…!

    • hopeinablog

haha you do know that Secret Key has a prestige snail cream now right? :) maybe you should try that ! haha. but it’s for drier skin as the texture is quite rich and balmy

hi!~ i would like ask if you could give me some advise regarding these “snail line” products. i have an oily skin and its acne prone. i also have problems with its redness and scars. i hope you can give me some suggestions for this, i’ve actually trying the tony moly’s intense care snail cream recently and so far i don’t have problems with it. although your suggestions would be much appreciated for better solution regarding my skin problems..

    thank you…
